Danika Dinsmore

Danika Dinsmore lives on the traditional, unceded territory of the Squamish Nation (Gibsons, BC). Her eclectic literary journey spans three decades. After earning her MFA in Writing and Poetics from the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poets (Naropa University), she began her creative career as a performance poet. She studied screenwriting at the University of Washington, and fell in love with writing for the big screen. She landed in speculative fiction when she adapted an original fantasy screenplay into a children’s novel series.

Danika comes to WCWFS with a history of organizing and producing literary events. Former Executive Director of the Northwest Spokenword LAB & the Seattle Poetry Festival, two-year president of Women in Film and Television Vancouver, & previous Vice President for the Cascadia Poetry Festival, she brings a wealth of experience to the society. She can be found at danikadinsmore.com
