UPDATES and NEWS, Wine Country Writers Festival

The Master Class…

Just the sound of “Master Class” sounds so daunting.

I always thought you had to be an experienced writer or expert to attend–you know…a “master”.

Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The idea of a master class is that it is longer in duration and usually more in depth on the subject at hand.

A Master Class is a place to learn from the best! They’re the “Master”.

For the Wine Country Writers’ Festival, Agent/CEO/Agency Owner SAM HIYATE will be presenting the 2.5-3 hour class via Zoom.

What a FANTASTIC opportunity to meet a top agent in the business and have the opportunity to ask questions. That is so exciting.

Wine Country Writers’ Festival Master Class will be held on Friday September 24, 2021 via Zoom. Time is yet to be determined but Sam will be joining us from Toronto so the class will start early enough so we’re not up all night.

There will be an opportunity to have your query letter anonymously critiqued by top literary agent Sam Hiyate. He will also take questions– so make sure you write down your questions.

**we ask that query letters be submitted a few days before the class**

Cost is only $20 to do a three hour class with a CEO and President of the very successful Toronto and Calgary based Literary Agency The Rights Factory.

Here is an overview of the Master Class. You don’t want to miss it.

What Publishers Want (and Authors Need):
Today’s literary marketplace remains a mystery. Often new writers ask themselves, what do I do next? How do I write a query letter that will stand out? What are editors really looking for? Most importantly, how do I know that my work is ready to be submitted? And when should I choose to perhaps Self-Publish?

Sam Hiyate will examine the publishing world in Canada, the U.S. and international markets in this 3-hour masterclass. What are the market’s needs, wants, trends and ‘must haves’? Come with your questions.

What are you waiting for? Move your writing to the next level and learn from the best. Register today.

There will also be limited pitch sessions available with Sam Hiyate on Saturday September 25, 2021 You must be registered to save a pitch spot. There is a cost of $25 for a six minute pitch.

    1. Hey Stuart! Thanks for stopping by. This is actually a Festival that I organized for 2020 but it got cancelled so we’re moving forward this year with it in a Zoom format. Check out the presenters. All Saturday classes are FREE. Yay. And, if you want to pitch or enter the contest the fee is listed on the site. Tell all your friends.
